Dr. Suengbae Park is an Assistant Professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Dr. Park joined as a faculty in State University of NewYork - Binghamton in June 2001. He is currently directing the Laboratory for Opto-Mechanics Research lab along with Dr.James Pitarresi. His research interest is centered on Electronics Packaging, Optomechanics, Micromechanics, Finite Element Analysis and MEMS. His previous professional career experience includes Advisory Engineer at IBM Microelectronics (1996-2001), Research Engineer at University of California at Los Angeles (1995-1996), PostDoctoral Fellow at Perdue University (1994-1995).He received his Ph.D. degree from Perdue University in 1994.

Dr.Park is also responsible for coming up with a new system for measuring both the inplane and out of plane deformation by Fizeau Interferometry. He was the session chair for the '95 American Society for Composites conference. He is currently reviewer for ASME Journal of Electronic Packaging, Journal of Composite Materials, Journal of Intelligent Materials and Systems, Experimental/Numerical Mechanics in Electronics Packaging, IEEE Transactions on CPMT:B/Advanced Packaging and and also holds six U.S. Patents.
